The Resolution Class A Journey through the bible from cover to cover |
|
Congratulations to everyone who has set out on this journey!! We have had some exciting times for sure. So much has been learned already and we discovered verses that we never knew of and revisited verses that we had forgotten. Also, many questions were raised for Pastor Kip to respond to at our round table discussion (You can find a copy of these questions and Pastor Kip’s responses on the “Roundtable Sessions” page of this website).
The experience of exploring the powerful and dynamic stories of this section of the Bible allowed us learn in fun and exciting ways. For example –shouting out answers in a one-sided battle with the Youth Rocks Sunday School class, we were able to act like kids for an hour, and we let the Youth win … or at least that is what we are telling everyone. On another day, we were able to share great conversation as we found artistic creativity in the class when we had a day of coloring pictures and discussing the weekly readings. While everyone was searching for the right picture and hunting the perfect color, the idea of acting our age never crossed our mind. Finally, we had an opportunity to make bookmarks for our Bibles on Special Project Day. This allowed us to make a lasting memory of God’s Ten Commandments and the Law section of the Bible. Our theme for the Law Special Project Day was Numbers 15 v 37—41; we made our fringes on our bookmarks!
This section of the Bible also provided us the opportunity to come together and share fellowship and food on our “Dinner and a Movie Night. “ This was a fun experience where we enjoyed a great dinner, and watch ‘Exodus Reveled.” This move was all about the historical probability of the Exodus story. We learned about antiquities, ancients markings, scientific data, and so much more that demonstrated the Exodus story in a new and exciting way. It was a great experience to watch science help prove one of the greatest miracles in the Bible!
As we start our journey through the History section of the Bible, keep your eyes open for what's coming next! Every one is invited to come, if you have done your readings or not, if you just feel like learning about the word of God in a new memorable way., you are welcome—anytime. We hope that this has been a great experience for everyone so far and that you are as excited about what's to come as we are!! - - - - - Your Facilitation Team |
